Kamchatkan and Kuriles Volcanic Activity
October 03, 2025, all time is UTC
SHEVELUCH VOLCANO (CAVW #300270)
56.64 N, 161.32 E; Elevation 3283 m (10768 ft), the dome elevation ~2500 m (8200 ft)
Aviation Colour Code is ORANGE
An explosive-extrusive eruption of the Young Sheveluch volcano continues. According to video and satellite data by KVERT, explosions sent ash up to 3 km a.s.l., and ash plume extended for about 60 km to the southeast of the volcano; a thermal anomaly over the volcano was observed.
KRONOTSKY VOLCANO (CAVW #300200)
54.75 N, 160.53 E; Elevation 3528 m (11572 ft)
Aviation Colour Code is ORANGE
Probably an phreatic explosive eruption occured at the southern flank of Kronotsky volcano at 22:30 UTC on 03 October, 2025. An ash cloud rose up to 9 km a.s.l., and a large ash cloud moved for 360 km to the southeast of the volcano. Probably, the eruption of the volcano ended.
KRASHENINNIKOV VOLCANO (CAVW #300190)
54.6 N, 160.27 E; Elevation 1856 m (6088 ft)
Aviation Colour Code is ORANGE
An effusive eruption of the volcano continues: lava flows are effusing to the eastern slopes of the Northern Cone of the volcano, and a gas-steam emission from this Cone is observing. Satellite data by KVERT showed a plume of resuspended ash extended for 250 km to the southeast of the volcano; and a big thermal anomaly over the volcano.
BEZYMIANNY VOLCANO (CAVW #300250)
55.97 N, 160.6 E; Elevation 2882 m (9453 ft)
Aviation Colour Code is YELLOW
A gas-steam activity of the volcano continues. Satellite data by KVERT showed a thermal anomaly over the volcano.
