KVERT DAILY REPORT
Kamchatkan and Kuriles Volcanic Activity

August 06, 2025, all time is UTC

KLYUCHEVSKOY VOLCANO (CAVW #300260)
56.06 N, 160.64 E; Elevation 4750 m (15580 ft)
Aviation Colour Code is RED

A summit explosive-effusive eruption of the volcano continues. Two lava flows has been effusing down the western slope of the volcano, this process is accompanied by phreatic explosions with ash removal up to 7-8 km a.s.l. Activity of the volcano increased from 14:00 to 16:00 UTC: explosions sent ash up to 10.5-11 km a.s.l. Satellite data by KVERT showed a large bright thermal anomaly over the volcano; an ash plume extended for 250 km to the east and southeast of the volcano.

SHEVELUCH VOLCANO (CAVW #300270)
56.64 N, 161.32 E; Elevation 3283 m (10768 ft), the dome elevation ~2500 m (8200 ft)
Aviation Colour Code is ORANGE

A growth of the lava dome of the Young Sheveluch volcano, and an activity of the 300 years of RAS (the Russian Academy of Sciences) lava dome on the southwestern slope of the Old Sheveluch volcano continue. An activity of the domes is accompanied sometimes by powerful gas-steam emissions. Satellite data by KVERT showed thermal anomalies over the both lava domes.

KRASHENINNIKOV VOLCANO (CAVW #300190)
54.6 N, 160.27 E; Elevation 1856 m (6088 ft)
Aviation Colour Code is ORANGE

An explosive-effusive eruption of the volcano continues. A fissure has formed on the slope of the volcano, and viscous lava is being extruded out of it, this process accompanied by the emission of gas-steam with a small amount of ash. An ash emission from the northern volcanic crater and an effuse of a lava flow on the northwestern flank of the volcano probably continues. Satellite data by KVERT showed a thermal anomaly over the volcano.

BEZYMIANNY VOLCANO (CAVW #300250)
55.97 N, 160.6 E; Elevation 2882 m (9453 ft)
Aviation Colour Code is YELLOW

A gas-steam activity of the volcano continues. Satellite data by KVERT showed the volcano was obscured by clouds.

KARYMSKY VOLCANO (CAVW #300130)
54.05 N, 159.44 E; Elevation 1486 m (4874 ft)
Aviation Colour Code is YELLOW

A moderate activity of the volcano continues. Satellite data by KVERT showed the volcano was obscured by clouds.

Aviation Colour Codes

GREEN

Volcano is in normal, non-eruptive state

or, after a change from a higher level:

Volcanic activity considered to have ceased, and volcano reverted to its normal, non-eruptive state.

YELLOW

Volcano is experiencing signs of elevated unrest above known background levels.

or, after a change from higher level:

Volcanic activity has decreased significantly but continues to be closely monitored for possible renewed increase.

ORANGE

Volcano is exhibiting heightened unrest with increased likelihood of eruption.

   or,

Volcanic eruption is underway with no or minor ash emission.
[specify ash-plume height if possible]

RED

Eruption is forecast to be imminent with significant emission of ash into the atmosphere likely.

  or,

Eruption is underway with significant emission of ash into the atmosphere.
[specify ash-plume height if possible]
