Location
Zhupanovsky volcanic ridge frames the Nalychevo Valley from the north. Its located about 40 km to the north from Avachinsky and Koryaksky volcanoes.
Form and structure
This is a complex volcano edifice, composed of four merged cones of stratovolcanoes of similar ages and structures.

Basalts, andesibasalts, andesites, dacites.

Hazard synopsis
There are possibly explosive and explosive-effusive eruptions of the volcano. The volcano could constitute a potential hazard to international and low-flying aircraft.

Ash falls possible at:

Paratunka (90 km to the south-west from the volcano)
Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (70 km to the south-south-west)
Yelizovo (70 km to the south-west)
