The volcano is located in the Southern volcanic belt of Kamchatka, about 16 km northeast of Kurilskoye Lake.

| Form and structure | ||||||||||||
Zheltovsky is a twinned stratovolcano with a somma and an extrusive dome at the summit.
The lover part of the structure is mainly of lavas, the upper part of alternating lavas and pyroclastics in equal proportions. |
